Sims Operating Scissors (often referred to as Sims Uterine Scissors) are specialized scissors used in gynecological procedures when cutting, dissecting, or manipulating tissues, particularly during hysterectomies and other vaginal procedures. Sims Operating Scissors can be purchased with blunted tips allowing for cutting and dissection with minimal damage to surrounding structures, while the sharp points allow for dissection of tougher tissues. Both blunt/blunt and sharp/sharp tips are available, as well as sharp/blunt. The shanks are available as straight or curved to accommodate a variety of depths while dissecting. These surgical scissors are resuable after proper sterilization.
